ELISE MORRIS (Music/Lyrics) received a B.A. cum laude from Ohio University in Creative Writing.  Elise is a unique voice among the singer/songwriters in New York City where she performs frequently, and she is just as comfortable behind the scenes as composer/lyricist for theatrical works, like Opa!   As a former member of Joe Jackson's band, she toured the world playing keyboards and singing background and lead vocals. Onstage, Morris has worked with Cy Coleman, Tan Dun and director Michael Mayer, among others.  She has written lyrics for Pat Metheny, music for Doc Pomus, and wrote and performed the piano underscore for Harlan Ellison's recording of his classic short-story "On The Downhill Side".  She's been an Artist-In-Residence in Atlantic Center for the Arts, Florida, and at I-Park, Connecticut.  Morris has been awarded a Music Composition Fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts and recently won the Sound Sculpture prize for exhibition at I-Park.  Her original music has been heard on countless underscores of Scholastic Audio Books for children as well as in several Off-Broadway plays, including "Tallahassee" and "By Oscar Micheaux".  She is one of the original voices behind the commercial "Nationwide Is On Your Side" and is the solo vocalist for the Opening Theme song for the popular CBS TV show, "Cold Case". With jazz, rock, classical, theatrical and folk influences, Morris brings a unique sense of melody and harmony to songwriting and is very excited to be able to explore the world of Musical Theatre again with this latest production of Opa!  She is a member of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop, SAG/AFTRA and Local 802 Musicians Union.  Elise is married to composer Doug Katsaros, and they have two daughters.
